IMPORTED WHITE TABLE WINES

BURGUNDY

It is often acclaimed that the world's greatest white wines are produced in France's
Burgundy region; an area rich in agriculture as well as history and wine culture.
Geographically, it stretches some 160 miles of vineyards from Auxerre in the North,
to the city of Lyon in the South. The grape responsible for the wine is
Chardonnay. These wines are fashioned from the "terroir" surrounding the
village, town and vineyard from which it came, then taking on it's name. White
Burgundies are different in style from one another. The Chablis wines are
"steely-flinty", crisp and refreshing, where the great Mersault and Montrachets are
mouth-filling, rich, elegant and full bodied.
